Adelaide's First Birthday!

There are so many things we loved about Adelaide’s 1st birthday! For starters- we loved the fact that it gave us the opportunity to hit the road for a nice little joy ride on a bright sunny day. There were so many cool antiques stores and diners along the drive and it put us right in the heart of a quaint little town just outside of Matthews, Virginia.Once we arrived, we were greeted by Nia and Craig’s family, who were just as sweet as can be and made sure that we felt like family from the moment we arrived- we can’t thank them enough for that! We also loved the fact  that it just so happened to be the middle of June and they chose to have an ICE CREAM theme! Who doesn’t love ice cream?

At first we were not quite sure just how Nia and Craig were going to pull of such a big event. Nia had originally told us over our Skype session a few weeks prior, that they were in the midst of moving back to Virginia and trying to prepare for her husband, Craig’s, deployment to Kuwait. But boy were we in for a surprise! Everything was absolutely perfect. Nia had found some of the most beautiful patterned quilted sheets and actually hand sewed them in order to make a massive tent for people to sit under and enjoy their food and ice cream…talk about a lot of work! She also had all sorts of pretty colored ribbon banners, pictures of Adelaide on display, Popsicle fabric pillows for guests to sit on, and she even made the most adorable fabric ice cream cones and hung them from the trees as a nice little touch. Plus, they had all kinds of delicious food and- of course an ice cream bar! With nearly 10 kinds of Hershey’s ice cream and every kind of fruit/ candy topping imaginable, I think it’s safe to say that guests were able to leave fat and happy :)

As for little miss Adelaide, she was one adorable little baby that put on quite the show….always so happy and bubbly, smiling and waving at everyone. She also showed an incredible amount of excitement when it came to opening gifts and she absolutely loved playing in all of the wrapping paper! There is no doubt that she is loved by many and we are so happy to have been able to meet such an amazing family! We hope that you enjoy their film :)

Tyler Hope's First Birthday!

We could not have been more thrilled to have captured Tyler Hope’s first birthday for our good friends Brian and Briana. They certainly took a chance on letting us film for them…as we most definitely need as much practice as possible and were originally supposed to come as guests however, we are almost positive that they will be happy they let us :)

For those of you who do not know the Macon family or have not yet had the pleasure to witness Tyler’s cheerful nature or countless smiles on Instagram (as her mom loves to snap pictures of her since she is a well- known photographer) we can certainly attest to the fact that she is just as happy and loving as she appears to be! Tyler also has the brightest blue eyes that often light up with curiosity as she walks and runs wherever she possibly can, laughing the entire time….and always keeping her parents on their toes. She even uses many forms of expressions such as clapping or dancing from side to side with her head to show that she is happy, which you may even notice in her video. It’s no wonder why she is loved by SO many people!

In order to shower Tyler with love and celebrate her very first birthday, Briana and Brian organized one of the most uniquely inspired and handcrafted birthdays we have ever seen! They went with a rustic- strawberry vibe for the party with burlap strawberry wreaths, mini strawberry shortcakes, an entirely red strawberry flavored candy bar, and they even had strawberry vodka lemonades for the adults :)

They also turned many of the photographs that Briana had taken of Tyler over the year into canvases and banners to use as decorations for the party. The photos were not only truly creative and personable touches to add to the party but they were great conversation starters for guests as people were able to walk all around laughing and reminiscing on their favorite “Tyler” moments. The day was simply perfect and we can only hope that we were able to capture it in the most beautiful way possible :) We love you Brian, Briana, and Tyler! Happy 1st birthday!

The Story Behind Our Name and Branding

The name Retroglass Productions was created based upon our love for all things old and vintage...funky old patterns, music, tin cans, band t-shirts, artwork and glass. Glass? Yes, glass...but not just any type of glass. Specifically old glass Coca- Cola bottles and pink depression glass as Zach loves all things Coca- Cola and Stacey just simply loves pink glass. Also, the (glass) portion of our name seems to go hand in hand with the fact that our videos are recorded through a glass lens.
As for our branding... we wanted to create simple packaging that fits our personality and most importantly feels personable. We therefore opted for a plain kraft paper CD jacket and decided to dress it up with our own uniquely designed graphics. Everything from our logo, thank you notes, and CD labels are created by us. We also decided to go with the colors brown, mint, and orange because they are our favorite colors and let's face it they are not too boyish or too girlish. Here is what you can look forward to when you receive a film through us :)
