Mallorie Danielle Photography // Shabby Chic Styled Shoot

We've often heard of local vendors that have participated in styled shoots in which they collaboratively come together in order to create a shoot with a unique theme that allows them to capture and reveal some of their best work. Typically, many of the vendors will include different photographers, florists, and even hair & makeup artists. However, we have never been asked to participate in one until this one and we are so delighted that we were because it was an amazing experience to say the least.

This shabby chic styled shoot was inspired and organized by Mallorie, with Mallorie Danielle Photography, and it was the true epitome of southern elegance! Beginning with hair and makeup, we started the day off by meeting at Byrum Farms. Both models, Nicole & Megan, each received a different look for hair by High Voltage Hair by Crystal Casey as well as a different look for makeup by Rachel Reid Makeup Artistry. Crystal went with a texturized braided up do for Nicole's bridal look and an elegant curled up do with a flower head band for Megan's bridal look. Rachel then gave Nicole and Megan two very different natural bridal looks. Nicole had a shimmery espresso brown eye with full lashes, bronzed cheeks, and nude lip color. Megan had a natural, light creamy eye with liner and full lashes, a light pink cheek, and light pink lip color.

After hair and makeup was completed, we all packed up and headed to the Camp Estate to begin shooting. We had no clue just how B-E-A-U-T-F-U-L the Camp Estate was going to be and once we arrived we were mesmerized! It was a huge white plantation style home with a large brick front porch and scalloped columns, it also had an obscenely long drive way lined with willow trees and...seemingly looked much like the house on Forrest Gump :) Horse pastures with pretty white picket fences and horses grazing also surrounded the estate on each side. It was definitely a beautiful day and perfect location for a shabby chic styled shoot! Mallorie did a wonderful job organizing everything for the shoot and she even set up several distinct areas as opposed to one throughout the property. One of which took place under a tree and looked much like an actual ceremony with antique chairs, then there was another area that had an antique distressed candy buffet, and last but not least there was an area that had a farm table set with china and a gold chandelier that hung from a tree. All of the furniture pieces were designed by the very talented Dylon Lankford with The Upcycled Cupboard, the floral arrangements were provided All A Bloom Florist and Gifts, and all of the chalkboard/ wood signs, burlap banners, and painted wine glasses, were designed by the amazingly creative Kristin Buck with KBuck Studios Then there was the delicious looking cake that was made by Simply Susan's Bakery, the most adorable custom designed invitation suite by April Foster with Paperdolls Designand beautiful vintage inspired necklace and earring sets that were made by Kristi Bell with The Funky Tangerine

Last but not least were photographers, Mallorie with Mallorie Danielle Photography and Jonathan & Becky Clark with WJ Clark Photography. Both photography teams specialize in engagements, bridal sessions, weddings, and family sessions and serve clients throughout the Hampton roads region as well as the OBX. Mallorie is a young, yet very talented photographer who has an immense passion for what she does and she certainly has an eye for beauty judging from the way that her styled shoot turned out. As for Jonathan and Becky, there is no denying the fact that they are crazy in love with one another and it certainly shows when they work with their clients together as a team... after all, what could be better than doing what you love with your love?

Overall, it was definitely a busy weekend for us after working our regular Monday- Friday jobs then filming a wedding on Saturday and then participating in this styled shoot on Sunday BUT we would not have changed it for the world! We are SO happy for the opportunity to have met such an amazing group of people when participating in this styled shoot <3 It feels as though we have made many new friends and we are confident in their work as they are all SO talented. The Suffolk region definitely has an amazing group of vendors to offer brides all over the area...however, many people do not even know it. Therefore, we encourage you to check out their work and spread the word :) Also, if you are interested in finding out more information about having us film a styled shoot or any other type of event, please be sure to contact us at zachandstacey@retroglassproductions.com.
